A rare opportunity to experience the dramatic setting of Sri Lanka’s only remaining primeval rain forest. During our adventure we will encounter the unique plant, animal and bird life. Sinharaja’s vegetation is similar to that found in the Amazon or Congo.
We cycle along an old logging track that winds its way to the heart of the forest and spend the night at the lodge of the renowned rainforest ecologist Martin Wijesinghe. The following day after breakfast we trek up to the Moulawella high point for a magnificent aerial view of the unbroken tree canopy. Our wildlife expert can point out the many different types of flora and fauna encountered along the wilderness trails.
